It feels like a holiday living in our build to rent apartment – even Lulu loves it!

Sophie (30) and her partner Victoria (27) had been living in the city centre of Manchester for seven years and although they had enjoyed the hustle and bustle of the city with the bars and restaurants, they were keen to have a quieter place to live, and somewhere to own a dog.

Sophie comments, “I had previously lived in Salford Quays and really liked it there so when we started thinking about where we wanted to live more long term, I was keen to look at what was available in that area again.

“Working in Marketing and Events, I have a really high pressured job, which is based in Alderley Edge, but I do have to travel around the country, so I really wanted somewhere which was quieter to come home to and relax and I loved the idea of living by the water again.

“We were already living in a build to rent development so knew what to expect and were keen to continue this type of lifestyle so arranged to visit four different developments. We had already visited the others before visiting Duet and as soon as we walked into the building, we were blown away by the whole customer experience; it was nothing we had experienced before.

“We were shown around the apartments and were really impressed with the quality of the furniture that was included and the high spec interiors. We also loved the communal space on offer with the residents lounge and the co-working space if you wanted to work from home. The gym and fitness centre were also really impressive, and we liked the fact that we could just go and use it whenever we wanted to, and it is all included in our monthly rent.

Sophie and Vic signed up to a two bedroom, two bathroom furnished apartment at Duet on an initial six month tenancy, which they quickly extended to 12 months.

“We moved into Duet seven months ago and initially moved into a different apartment before deciding quite quickly that we wanted to get a dog. Vic had always wanted a dog and moving to a pet friendly development was high on her check list. As soon as we moved in, we saw several people with their pets and knew it would be a great place to own a dog, so decided to get Chihuahua Lulu, now 10 months old.” said Sophie.

“With Lulu joining our family, we felt we wanted a bit more space so asked if we would be able to move to a slightly larger two bedroom apartment. The team were so accommodating and made it all happen for us. Our new apartment gives us everything we want with views over the courtyard garden and the water of the Salford Quays, it really makes us feel like we are on holiday when we look out of the window; it’s so tranquil. The podium garden is also a great space to be able to take Lulu for some outdoor space and meet up with other dogs.

“There are lots of other residents with dogs, so with us both having to return to work and study, we have been able to arrange doggy play dates and walks with neighbours whilst we are out.”

Duet in Salford Quays, Manchester is a brand new rental experience - designed and built entirely with renters in mind. Premium accommodation with high spec interiors and flexible lease options, offered across a range of prices and layouts to suit your style of living. All apartments benefit from built-in wardrobes in each bedroom and floor-to-ceiling windows.

The development includes exceptional on-site amenities including gym and fitness centre, roof top podium garden, stylish resident's lounge, 24-hour concierge and secure cycle storage. Duet offers secure parking and easy access to Metrolink services, just two minutes from Harbour City Metrolink, Manchester’s most exciting new development offers the best of all worlds.

Sophie continues, “Our open plan living space is perfect for the way we live, and I can use the apartment to work from home, but I also really like going to the communal work area, which plays really lovely music and is a great space to work, plus there is always free coffee on tap!

“It’s absolutely amazing living here and the customer experience is outstanding. Nothing is too much trouble and when we moved in, they helped us with all our boxes and gave us access to the guest parking, so we didn’t have to walk so far.  We’ve really enjoyed the events that the team have put on, both virtual and now starting with face to face events, so we can get to know our neighbours. One evening I missed the wine tasting event, so they left me a bottle of wine at our door with a lovely note. Nothing is too much trouble.

“Having a 24 hour concierge and security also give us real peace of mind and as we are both so busy with work and study, if we get something delivered, we know it is looked after securely for us and not just left on our doorstep.

“I would definitely recommend the build to rent lifestyle for anyone looking for a new home. Living somewhere like this means you can really become part of the community and meet other people, which you wouldn’t necessarily get if you lived in a private rental property.

“I had always thought we would want to buy somewhere but having everything on site is so convenient and easy when you are so busy at work. It’s also an ideal location for Vic, who is studying Speech and Language Therapy at Manchester University, which is just ten minutes away. We can see ourselves living here for a long time to come.”

Chill out on the waterfront or live it up in the cafes and bars of Media City, Salford Quays, less than two miles from the city centre offers its own exhilarating style. It’s the ideal setting for professionals looking to escape the city centre without losing out on a fast paced modern life.
